A foundational deep dive into the core principles of web accessibility. This session covers the four pillars of accessibility (POUR) and provides actionable tips for everyday digital content creation.

Accessible Documents Training

A hands-on walkthrough for creating accessible Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF documents. This session covers the source-to-PDF workflow, running the Office Accessibility Checker, exporting correctly from Microsoft Office, and remediating PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Pro for WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.

Accessible Courses in Canvas

Your Canvas course shell is the digital classroom for your students. This course focuses on ensuring that your modules, pages, and quizzes are accessible to all learners. We explore how to utilize the inherent accessibility tools built into Canvas, as well as how to leverage Panorama, our advanced accessibility platform. Participants will learn how to identify barriers and apply fixes directly within the course editor.

Accessible Social Media

This training provides a practical introduction to making your Texas Tech social media posts accessible. Learn how to write effective alt text for images, add and review captions on video, write accessible hashtags, place emojis appropriately, provide video descriptions, and apply platform-specific guidance for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and microblogging platforms—all before the April 26, 2027 DOJ Title II deadline.

Designing Accessibly in Canva

This training provides a practical guide to making your Canva graphics and presentation slides accessible. Presented by Dr. Andrea L. Beaudin of the Department of Professional Communication, this session covers how inaccessible design impacts users, how to use Canva’s built-in accessibility checker, best practices for alt text and color contrast, and the correct workflow for exporting accessible PDF and image files. Questions from both the April 2 and April 15 sessions are included in the FAQ below.

Partner Training

Getting Started with YuJa Panorama in Canvas

This introductory workshop is the perfect starting point for faculty and staff who want to better understand and use YuJa Panorama within Canvas. We'll walk through the core features of the tool, including how Panorama identifies accessibility issues in course materials, how to use built-in remediation tools for documents, and how alternative formats support student access. Participants will also gain a high-level understanding of Panorama reporting, so they can track progress and identify areas for improvement over time.

This session is offered directly by our vendor partner, YuJa, and is part of their custom training program for Texas Tech University.
