Mindful Matador is a designation Texas Tech students can attain by participating in well-being exploration while completing their academic degree.
How can I become a Mindful Matador
To attain the Mindful Matador designation students will participate in 16 well-being events focused in at least 5 of the wellness dimensions.

Emotional
- Matador Mental Health Day
- RISE Events
Physical
- TTU Rec Center Classes
- Outdoor Pursuits Trips
Financial
- Visit Red to Black Peer Financial Planning
- Lease review with Student Legal Services
Educational
- Career Center Events
- RISE Events
Social
- Membership in a student organization
- Career Center Events
Intellectual
- Use one of the well-being resources
- Programs for Academic Development and Retention
Environmental
- Outdoor Pursuits Trips
- Arbor Day
Spiritual
- Participation in a spiritually focused organization
- RISE Events
Alternatively, students who complete CARS 2310 will be a Mindful Matador.
Benefits of being a Mindful Matador
Students who are Mindful Matadors have worked on career ready skills and enhanced their emotional intelligence and resilience through this program. Students can use this designation on their resume to help showcase these skills gained outside of the classroom. Best places of where to place this designation would be within an Education or Honors section.

Mindful Matadors will receive a cord to wear for graduation.
How to communicate Mindful Matador
A Mindful Matador is an individual who has participated in well-being exploration while completing their TTU degree. This includes skill-building in areas of emotional intelligence and resilience.
