Disable FaceTime Immediately to Protect Your Privacy
A bug has been identified in FaceTime that allows remote callers access to a call recipient's audio and front-facing camera.
Similar to an alert list that the TTU CIO maintains for Texas Tech University leaders, we are partnering with the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce to provide a similar email-based alert system. Alert mail is only sent for high priority IT security events.

In the context of the massive Equifax data breach that was announced last year that potentially affected 143 million U.S. consumers (source: https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com), and because of the current tax season, the TTU Information Technology Division would like to strongly remind the Lubbock community to be vigilant in protecting confidential personal data and information resources.
