Majors, Degrees, & Classes
For the growth of the local and regional economies, we offer degrees in business and STEM, as follows:
Graduates from Texas Tech University-Costa Rica earn a North American bachelors (baccalaureate) degree, just as if they had completed a four-year degree at the main campus in Texas. Most of our majors lead to a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree, with one exception: the Rawls College of Business delivers the bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) degree, with a major in Management.
Texas Tech University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Texas Tech University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Texas Tech University may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOCs website (www.sacscoc.org).
Full-time students (who successfully complete 32 credit hours per academic year) can expect to graduate in four years. Each student decides, with input from an academic advisor, which classes and how many credits to take per semester. All majors offered in Costa Rica are four-year programs, so students can complete their degree entirely at the Costa Rica campus.
We do not currently offer classes at night.
You may take some classes remotely, but Texas Tech University is not primarily an online institution. You will usually be expected to attend classes on campus.
At the moment, Texas Tech-CR exclusively offers undergraduate (bachelors) degrees. We do not host any post-baccalaureate programs here in Costa Rica.
