Accreditation
The programs delivered at Texas Tech University-Costa Rica are identical to degrees on the home campus in Texas. Overseen by the colleges and departments in Lubbock, the curriculum is delivered using the same outcomes, academic standards, and syllabus design.
Texas Tech University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Texas Tech University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Texas Tech University Costa Rica is authorized by the Consejo Superior de Enseñanza Universitaria Privada (CONESUP), the official government body under the Ministry of Public Education of Costa Rica, to operate as a private university and to offer the following bachelors degree programs at its central campus in Escazú:
- Bachelor in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management
- Bachelor in Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor in Retail Management
- Bachelor in Computer Science
This authorization was granted by CONESUP in its Ordinary Session No. 993-2025 on August 12, 2025, through Resolution CONESUP-SA-302-2025 (File No. 834-2024).
