National Security

Advancing national security through defense, infrastructure, and resilience at Texas Tech University.

House Bill 5092

Expanding Texas Tech’s national security research.

About the Complex

During World War II, Texas Tech supported the war effort by providing housing and pre-flight training for more than 1,250 Air Corps students at this site.

Today, that legacy continues, positioning Texas Tech at the forefront of advancing national security. While the mission has evolved, the impact remains the same: strengthening the safety and resilience of our nation.

The Texas Tech University Reese National Security Complex (RNSC), a former U.S. Air Force base, offers a uniquely controlled environment for advanced research and testing. With an isolated power source and proximity to cyber-physical infrastructure, RNSC enables critical innovation across security, energy, and infrastructure systems.
