Mary Beck has been teaching English in Costa Rica for more than 20 years. Her degree from the University of California, Irvine, is in Spanish and linguistics. Her graduate work, at Framingham State University (Massachusetts) and UCLA (California), focused on teaching non-native speakers of English.
