Family & Consumer Sciences Education
The Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences Education offers two concentrations: education and entrepreneurship. The education concentration prepares students for careers teaching family and consumer sciences at the middle and high school levels, as well as roles in community education, Extension Service, curriculum development, media, government, and human services. Coursework covers all family and consumer sciences content areas and professional education requirements, leading to teacher certification. The entrepreneurship concentration focuses on developing ethical, business-focused skills for creating and managing a family and consumer sciences-based venture. It leads to the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Certificate but does not provide teacher certification.
