Criminology

The Criminology program offers a deep dive into sociological causes and consequences of crime. This unique multidisciplinary focus allows students to take specialized electives from anthropology, psychology, and forensics.

Through a partnership with the Texas Tech Institute for Forensic Science, students gain rare exposure to real-world crime scene investigation and research to prepare for specialized law enforcement or social justice roles.

How do I choose a major?

The College of Arts & Sciences has an Arts & Sciences Undeclared (ASUD) designation.

Students with 30 hours or fewer qualify and work with Academic Success Advisors to determine their major while taking core requirements.

How do I get involved in research?

Students have several opportunities to pursue undergraduate research through the College of Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Research Academy (CASURA), Center for the Integration of STEM Education & Research (CISER) and Center for Transformative Undergraduate Experiences (TrUE).
