President Lawrence Schovanec

Since becoming President in 2016, Lawrence Schovanec has overseen unprecedented enrollment growth, record investments in research and fundraising, and the designation as a Carnegie “Tier One” Research Institution. Under his leadership, Texas Tech has initiated more than $900 million in new facilities and opened a branch campus in San Jose, Costa Rica, and the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine in Amarillo. President Schovanec is proud to serve Texas Tech as it continues to expand its impact as a world-class, internationally recognized institution.
