About Camp L.E.A.D.
Camp L.E.A.D. is a leadership and development program at Texas Tech University. The program is designed for high school students entering their senior year. The camp offers an exciting and developmental experience on campus for top students who have demonstrated leadership potential.
Established by leadership at the Texas Tech University System and Texas Tech, Camp L.E.A.D. hosted its first summer program in July 2011. The 2011 program served as a pilot for the camp, and accepted 50 students and two guidance counselors. Camp L.E.A.D. has received tremendous support from the Texas Tech, San Antonio, Dallas, Austin and Lubbock communities, and we’re expanding our program to cover many more areas across Texas, so each student is encouraged to apply.
The program provides scholarships to all its participants, bringing selected students to Texas Tech and immersing them in a leadership development culture that will assist them throughout the course of their lives and careers.
Provided with a contemporary leadership context, Camp L.E.A.D. participants leave with the tools and materials to be stronger leaders in their respective schools and communities, and are better-prepared to exhibit such qualities and character.
Camp L.E.A.D. is excited to develop the leaders of tomorrow. Learn more about the program and how to get involved.
