The Texas Public Information Act (formerly known as the "Open Records Act"), with a few exceptions, gives you the right to be informed about the information that Texas Tech University collects about you. It also gives you the right to receive the information and have the University revise any information that is incorrect. You may request to revise this information by contacting the office possessing such information.
TTU has a public records policy that may be viewed at TTU OP 01.04, Custodian of Public Records.
TTU's President is the custodian of official records and has designated the Vice Chancellor and General Counsel for TTUS as the agent for public records for TTU. Requests for public records should be in writing and specify what records or information is sought. When a request is received, it shall be forwarded immediately to the department head and the Office of General Counsel for response.
