MEMORANDUM

To ensure continued support and service to our students, the Offices of the President and Provost recently reviewed the current structure of Campus Access & Engagement (CAE). Through this review, it was determined that CAE functions are best aligned with existing programs within the Office of the Provost, allowing for a more streamlined approach and continued focus on student success. This change will take effect immediately.

The following units/programs will transition to Outreach & Engagement under Vice Provost Rod Williams:

  • Pre-college TRiO programs (Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math & Science)
  • Community Engagement, including partnership development, civic engagement and service-based learning. Associated administrative support will move with these functions.

The following units/programs will transition to Academic Innovation & Student Success under Vice Provost Mitzi Lauderdale:

  • TRiO McNair Scholars Program
  • TRiO Student Support Services (SSS)

The following units/programs will transition to Student Life under Vice Provost Matt Gregory:

  • Student Enrichment Center, moving under Student Involvement
  • University Interscholastic League (UIL)

As a result of this realignment, the vice president role will be discontinued, and Dr. Jorge Iber will return to the Department of History as a full-time faculty member. We are grateful to Dr. Iber for his work on behalf of our students.
