This years legislative session brought a number of positive developments for Texas Tech. We are grateful for the leadership of our West Texas delegation, the confidence state leadership has shown in Texas Tech and the support of the TTU System and Governmental Relations team.
Thanks to our continued enrollment growth, our state general revenue appropriations increased. The state also maintained our Institutional Enhancement funding and increased Higher Education Funds that support our capital projects and facilities maintenance.
We continue to benefit from our expanding research enterprise. Texas Tech will receive increased support through the Texas University Fund (TUF). The legislature also appropriated historic and significant onetime investments that reflect growing recognition of our leadership in national security and energy innovation.
As we plan for FY 2026, our budget priorities will remain focused on our core commitments:
- Increasing scholarship support for undergraduate and graduate students, including the expansion of the Red Raider Guarantee.
- Investing in our people through a merit pool for eligible employees, faculty promotion increases and adjustments to the staff pay plan.
- Supporting students through resources such as Raider Success Hub and academic priorities identified in our Strategic Enrollment Plan.
This legislative session also resulted in policy changes that affect governance and curriculum. We will continue to provide guidance as needed to ensure compliance while supporting the work of our faculty and staff.
As we approach a new academic year, I want to thank you for all you do to serve our students and support the continued growth and success of Texas Tech. Your dedication continues to define the strength of our institution. I look forward to working with you as we build on our momentum.
