Resources & Tips

Transcripts & Test Scores

Students must submit transcripts from all degree-awarding institutions. All documents received during the application process are considered unofficial, so please upload soft, PDF copies to your application portal. Official copies of these documents are required by the 12th class day of the term to which you are admitted.

Program Materials

Most Texas Tech graduate programs require supplemental materials for admission review. These materials may include (but are not limited to) items such as a statement of purpose, recommendations, writing samples, creative portfolio, etc. You can learn more about your intended program’s requirements at their webpage or by contacting the advisor.

Application Submission

Please ensure that you have uploaded everything you intend to include as part of your application prior to submitting. Applicants are unable to add or change any documents once the application has been submitted.

Generative AI Usage

As an emerging research institution, Texas Tech University values exploring new technologies, including generative AI tools like ChatGPT. However, we value the applicant’s unique voice in their personal statements, writing samples and other application materials. Should you use generative AI, it is important that the use only complements your original ideas and is not used to compose your work entirely. We hold prospective graduate students to the same academic integrity standards as our current students, and applicants are expected to abide by Texas Tech University’s policy on Academic Integrity.
