A total of 2,511 donors from 43 states raised approximately $860,000 during the 2026 Day of Giving to support students, student-athletes, campus and communities.
Red Raiders across the country came together to make Texas Tech University’s fourth Day of Giving the most successful to date. A total of 2,511 donors from 43 states contributed approximately $860,000, soaring past the donor goal of 1,625 by nearly 900.
The 2026 Day of Giving set records across the board: most dollars raised, most donors, most states represented, most first-time donors (450) and most challenges met (15). This year, 132 funds benefited from donor generosity across student life, research, academics and athletics — showing that every gift fuels a movement that moves Texas Tech ON&ON.
“Our Day of Giving reflects the strength of the Red Raider community,” said Texas Tech President Lawrence Schovanec. “What stands out most is the broad participation and the many gifts of all sizes that collectively make a meaningful impact. It’s a vivid example of how Red Raiders so generously support each other and our university.”

On March 24-25, every dollar raised across the university counted toward Day of Giving. The collective impact of Red Raider generosity will provide immediate support across campus for areas such as the Companion Animal Science Education & Research, Vet School Office of Clinical Programs, Student Mental Health Community, Spirit Programs and various student support resources.
Alumni, students, faculty members, staff and friends amplified the moment to make a difference and shape the future of Texas Tech. Beyond making donations, Red Raiders spread the word, connected and celebrated generosity by sharing opportunities and impact on social media and attending pop-up events hosted by the Office of Advancement and colleges on campus.
Since the first Texas Tech Day of Giving in August 2022, donors have given more than $2.2 million to support the programs, priorities and people most significant to them.
“Day of Giving inspires me every year as I watch alumni, friends and supporters rally behind the programs they care about most,” said Byron Kennedy, vice president for advancement. “The ON&ON Campaign is focused on impact, and this year’s record-breaking results show how generosity transforms lives and strengthens our entire Texas Tech community.”
All gifts to Day of Giving are part of ON&ON: The Campaign for Texas Tech University, which was publicly launched in October 2024. The campaign supports four priorities: Transform Lives, Fuel Academic Excellence, Elevate Campus & Community and Build Champions.
Funds raised on Texas Tech Day of Giving create an immediate impact across campus. Details about this impact will be included in the Day of Giving Impact Report published in the fall.
