Two-year College Writing Centers



I'm trying to get an institutional commitment at our two-year 
college to our Writing Center, which has been functioning ad hoc for 
three years now. The Center has been successful, serving about 20% 
of the student population at least once each semester, and about 10% 
multiple times each semester.  It has helped students at all stages 
of the writing process, in all divisions of the college.  We've 
seen highly successful students as well as those struggling 
academically.

However, to convince our dean that the Center should be budgeted, 
I am trying to gather some two-year college data on:	
	How WCs are staffed (students, faculty, etc.)
	Student use of WCs (% of enrolled students using WC, single and 
		multiple visits to WC, first-year/second-year users, etc.)

Does anyone know of studies which have investigated these issues?  
I'd appreciate any information listserve members can share.
