Ideas to reinvigorate Peer Centered
Hi all,
As I said last week, I'm feeling the urge to give up working on Peer
Centered, the real-time forum for peer writing tutors. In any case,
since we had a subject scheduled for this week (Going Online, a
discussion about tutoring through online media), I thought we
could give Peer Centered one more try. I'm wondering about
the overall pattern of Peer Centered conversations. Would it
be more feasible to convert Peer Centered from a real-time
conversation into a less time-constrained format using a web
board? We already have a web board set up for Peer
Centered, but it hasn't had much action. If you want to see what
the potential of the web board is, the address for it is
http://bessie.englab.slcc.edu/discus/ . I am assuming that if I
advertised this format folks would have more opportunity to
participate.
In any case the web board format would be similar...we would
have weekly topics people could contribute to. I am thinking
that we could have the real-time sessions as special events.
What do you all think?
