Re: diagramming sentences

A Beth-to-Beth message:

We do lots of sentence diagramming in my 4000-level grammar class for
English and English Education majors. I'm not sure it would be useful in a
writing class, but it really helps me teach grammar. The book we're using,
Kolln & Funk's _Understanding English Grammar_ uses diagramming pretty
extensively, so I'd be surprised if more people weren't doing them. (You
might consider surveying grammar textbooks in addition to grammar teachers,
actually.)

Hope this helps.
