Re: How much is too much?




We try to have the latest word processing software online just so students
can see what that's like and learn on it.  For us for now, that's
WordPerfect 8 and Microsoft 97.  We turn off the grammar checker and spell
checking features so that they don't automatically correct or check,
though we do leave them on for manual use.

We have a file sharing system on our server so students can save their
work online where a teacher can pick it up; students, can also email stuff
to one another and to their teacher.

Also, students do some writing in Ceilidh; our labs have web access.

We don't use, at CSU, any of the packaged products: Daedalus, Norton,
CommonSpace and so on. However, for an overview of their relative
