Hi All,

I'm wondering if I might solicit a short (three to five text) reading list
from those of you with a background or experience in composition and rhetoric.
 In particular, I'm interested in those seminal texts of composition theory. 
I'd also very much appreciate a lead on a text which details formal principles
of reasoning and/or argument.  Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
