Call for Proposals - SEWCA 1999
Call for Proposals
Southeastern Writing Center Association
The 1999 meeting for writing center professionals of the Southeastern
Writing Center Association has been set for February 3-6 at the
Sheraton Charleston Hotel overlooking the harbor in beautiful Charleston,
SC. Hosted by the Medical University of South Carolina, the 19th annual
meeting of this group is being planned by a founding member and past
president of SEWCA, Tom Waldrep. Mark your calendars now and plan
your proposal.
"Conversations about Teaching and Writing: Where Are We After Two
Decades?" is this year's theme. Waldrep's hopes for proposals include a
review of writing centers coming of age as we approach the next
millenium, changes in composition studies over the past twenty years,
and perceived changes in the students we teach today as opposed to
those earlier (over the past two decades). Proposals OF NOT MORE
THAN 500 WORDS may be faxed or mailed by November 15, 1998, to
