NWCA registration fees

Greetings:

I saw your recent inquiry in WCenter about NWCA registration fees. I'm in
digest mode, so others may have responded as well, but I thought I should
write and make it official (as administrative assistant of IU's Campus
Writing Program, which is serving as host for the conference). You asked,

>Can any of you supply me with an estimated cost for the registration fees
>of the NWCA and CCCC annual conferences?
>
>Also, when creating your budget for attending conferences, how much is a
>good amount to include for lodging or airfare?

Registration for the NWCA conference will be $130, $70 for full-time
students, plus a $5 or $10 late fee within about two weeks of the
conference (which is April 15-17, 1999). Naturally, there are lots of
motels and hotels in a college town like Bloomington, but we're
recommending that people stay on campus in the Indiana Memorial Union
hotel, where the conference will be held. Rates there vary from $66 to
$99, depending on the accommodations and whether it's single- or
double-occupancy (and you can go higher for more roommates or for luxury
rooms); call 1-800-209-8145 or 812-855-2536 and mention the conference.
We're also working on securing limited, less expensive dorm-room
accommodations for undergraduates.

We're putting together a Web page with information on the conference, on
travel, and on Bloomington, and where you can also find the call for
proposals. It's a little rough at the moment, but if you have Web access,
take a look at
