Got a great writing center and want to show it off?

Friends,

If you have a pedagogically up-to-date writing center with a good physical
facility (adequate space, technology, etc.)which you wouldn't mind showing
off, and you are within 1 to 2 hours of Willimantic, CT (in the eastern
part of the state), please contact me off list.

The English department at Eastern Connecticut State University, in response
to a mandate to take over basic writing instruction, is considering
proposing a new writing center facility and we want to bring some of our
administrators and faculty (about 8 people total) to visit the kind of
place we'd like to have on campus. We are hoping that if our VP and Dean
see a REALLY nice, effective writing center that they will begin to covet
it and dig up the funds to get Eastern into the twentieth century before
the century ends.

Note: Some tutoring in writing is currently offered through our learning
resource center, but tutors there are not well-trained and the emphasis has
mostly been on editing.

If you can help us and are willing to help us by showing off your writing
center, please contact me ASAP.

Thank you.

P.S. We are especially interested in seeing a writing center that uses
well-trained peer tutors and/or one that runs required, for-credit
tutorials for basic writers.
