Christine,
	Before I arrived, Wesleyan faculty had voted to drop English 101 completely
except for transfers etc and provide writing experiences in an across
discipline freshman seminar.  Our entire college program is writing-intensive,
but faculty are realizing that in order to teach writing, a person needs a
background.  Now they are rethinking their decision, and in the interim, I'm
handling the schooling of faculty across disciplines and teaching remedial and
what English 101 we do offer.  It makes for a wild ride especially since
someone just noticed that I'm teaching more students that anyone else in the
college--oh the crazy webs we weave.....
