Re: assistant WC directors

Rob,

Last semester, because of declining enrollments, the English Department
had more GTAs than they needed so they assigned one to me to be my
assistant.  She worked 10 hours in the Writing Center instead of teaching
one class.  IT was a great experience for both of us.  Not only did she
get a whole new perspective on how students approach the task of writing,
she also got another significant line to add to her vita.  I was delighted
to have the help, which the English Dept. funded.  I've been trying to
make this a permanent arrangement but haven't had any luck so far.
