Re: the tutee's privacy

I think that it differs from school to school whether the instructors are
informed. The school I attended for my undergrad training had a strict
privacy policy. But we also had a lot of product-based instructors and I
think the students were hesitant for these instructors to "hear" about
the studnet's "errors."

Now I am at a school where the instructors are informed of the student's
progress/work in the writing center, but it seems that we have mainly
process-oriented comp instructors. So far I have not seen any grumbling
on the student's part about letting their instructors know the contents of
the conferences.

I guess it depends on the school, the instructors, and on the students.
