New list: Service-Learning (fwd)

fyi,
--Eric

Intro to the list by Tom Deans:

This listserv grew out of the CCCC Special Interest Group on
Service-Learning and Writing, but is open to any and all interested in
service-learning, community literacy, and writing instruction/social
action connections.

Choice of discussion topics is open, including pragmatic matters such as
teaching practices, success stories/cautionary tales, and available
resources (books, articles, syllabi, websites, funding opportunities,
etc.), as well as abiding theoretical concerns such as rhet-comp
theory/service-learning connections, intercultural literacy issues, the
ethics of community outreach--and anything else list participants consider
worth discussing.

However, in the weeks leading up to CCCC, the Special Interest Group
facilitators will introduce a few key questions leading to more focused
discussions that can then be continued live at the CCCC SIG.

As you join the list, please introduce yourself, and share a bit of
information about your community writing practices, interests, aspirations
and/or questions. You are then encouraged to propose discussion topics
and jump right into on-going conversations.
