Good point, Linda. At the university of missouri, the writing center has a
system similar to Lee's. Tutors in the res halls have a room to work in and
specific hours. There is clearly time when they are 'on the clock' and when
they're not they don't have to feel obligated to tutor. Plus, having a
designated meeting room is certainly safer for several reasons than
tutoring in residential rooms or even in local bars & restaurants. Still,
the idea of taking the tutoring to the writers appeals to me. It's one of
the reasons we started the Online Writery.
