RE: Percentage of students using writing centers

The numbers here--a smallish (1500 students) college with a professional
health-care curriculum--are similar to Sara's:  last year we saw an average
of about 10% of the student body.  However, it can make a great deal of
sense to look at those numbers in more specific ways, particularly if your
writing center is targetting certain populations.  For instance, we saw
about 50% of the first-year class--the primary group for which the WC was
established.

Perhaps this is another good argument to have a mission statement for your
WC.
