Kate,

I love your son's list and think the initiative it took to create it is
quite impressive.  I think it would make a good assignment to show students
the list that speaks to their age groups and then ask them to do the
research to compile a similar list for us (their teachers) like the one
your son has.

The one thing I'd like to see go in both lists is the insinutation of
stupidity.  If it were simply of list of things that people in certain age
groups might or might not remember it is more a perspective-provider than a
derogatory statement.
