I'm not at all up-to-date on PLATO (or its most recent incarnation), but,
if you're talking about the CAI software, I remember it rather vividly
from my graduate days at the University of Illinois where it was
developed.  For a brief history of that PLATO and where it went from

For more information, you might try doing a Web search with some or all of
