Gender and Wild Lunatic Ravings Against Formulaic Writing-Reply
Terry (et al),
The multiple voices issue is a very interesting bridge, and I think it
demonstrates something about the way computer writing forums create a
"community of writers" unlike many earlier forms. One of the reasons
that writing professionals are so interested in the idea of writing
communities these days is because the computer makes it so easy to
belong to such a community (through e-mail, chat rooms, etc.), with the
rather odd dynamic with writer responsibility that may occur as a result.
In other words, since students seem to write more and more often today
because of the computer, it is very important to examine the effect that
hidden voices have on idea accountability. I'd like to hear more on this
particular thread.
Talk about going meta.
