Well, I visited and had lunch with him at 4c.  And it was much like old
times.  And I've corresponded and visited off and on since I got my ticket
punched in '92.  But maybe it's just not "a guy thing" to gush too much.  

Then again, sometimes I still struggle to understand my own relationship to
my education/discipline.  

I believe he knows I appreciate his help, and I believe he knows about that
struggle.
