Wendy, "My Wood" is in Forster's collection of essays which he called
ABINGER HARVEST.   It's very short.  He owns a patch of land with some
trees on it, and asks, "What's the effect on me of my wood?"  He finds
three main effects ("In the first place, " etc.).  Then he sums up with
a fourth effect.  Sounds like he is writing a 30-minute impromptu
essay.  But it is very clever and funny  and ironic, classic Forster.
