dysgraphia..... hm, what about speech recognition software?

hi folks,

the talk about dysgraphia got me thinking about something completely
different. (so I'll warn you: I don't conceive of speech recognition
software as having any bearing on dysgraphia. maybe it does; i don't care
right now).

Speech recognition software/hardware has gotten very, very inexpensive and
more capable. Do any of you have any experience with using it in a WC setting?

I know the software takes a lengthy "training" process, but I have a feeling
it would be useful for illustrating to student/clients how _different_
spoken English and written English are.

Or, what about vice-versa? My dyslexic computer engineer friend uses the
text-to-speech capability to "read" back to him what he types, since the
visual feedback alone still makes letters and words twirl around in typical
dyslexic ways. Have any of you done that?
