CCCC Web Internship CFP
The Conference on College Composition and Communication invites
application to its Web Publishing Internship for 1998/99. We urge students
(undergraduate or graduate) with interest in rhetoric, composition, and
web publishing to apply for one of four internships. The purpose of the
program is twofold: 1) to provide support for the organization's web
publishing projects, and 2) to provide rhetoric and composition students
an opportunity to gain valuable experience with web publishing.
DEADLINE: June 15, 1998
Each position includes a $500 stipend. The amount of work involved varies
quite a bit--the average may be only a couple of hours a week--but we make
every effort to distribute work in accordance with each intern's
individual ability to handle it, given other demands on their time.
Interns will be associated with the CCCC Computers in Composition and
Communication committee, the group that coordinates CCCC Online, by
subscribing to the group's list, 7C-L@lists.ncte.org, and consulting with
committee members as needed.
Interns should have good access to the net and some experience in web
publishing, though its not necessary to be an alpha geek or anything. We
hope, in fact, to put together a team with diverse experiences and skills.
Members of the Computer Committee will review applications and will notify
all applicants by July 1, 1998. (Apologies for the compressed schedule.)
The application form is at

Please send any questions or report any problems with the application
process to wleric@showme.missouri.edu.
Finally, a big thank you to the 1997/98 interns: Collin Brooke, Mike
Jackman, John Logie, and Kirsten Hale, who did a terrific job pioneering
this program, helping to root out & solve problems, and putting together
some fine web pages in the process.
