organizing a conference
Hello everyone,
I am in the initial stages of organizing the first European Writing Center
Conference which will be held in Greece next May (the tentatively scheduled
time frame is the first long weekend, which would encompass April 30 through
May 2--something like that.
I have never put together a conference, and I was wondering if there have
been accumulated, as a result of past conferences, a collection of materials
which might give me direction and save lots of time. If anyone knows of
helpful hints, or of e-mail addresses of those who have put together
conferences in the past--such as Penny Bird, could you please send such
information along to me?
We--the American College of Thessaloniki--will soon have information
regarding this conference on a web site here. If anyone has any topics they
think might be appropriate to this first European Conference, please send
them to me. If you think you might be interested in attending, also let me
know--just informally.
This past weekend I went to Bulgaria to meet with Tracy Santa, director of
the Writing Center at the American University in Bulgaria. He's a great
person, and we did a bit of brainstorming. I know he will be a big help,
too, in terms of ideas, but this is a MAJOR project, and I need all the help
I can get.
So please forward whatever ideas, information, support you can.
Thanks,
Anna Challenger
