mea culpa to all;  tone was influenced by extraneous stuff.

Yes.  But is that a electro-technical problem?  Of course not. That's why i
planted my tongue in cheek about anonymizers, etc.  Still, I wonder: email
is fairly old tech; web is new.  Does big brother cache the web pages we
read?  Would a threaded discussion on a web page be "safer"?  What if access
to read those pages were password protected?  I doubt it be any better. text
is text.  and we are in it up to our eyes.   as i recall,  plato called it
'pharmakos' , a drug.

Nope.  Ephemeral.  The Republic of Marginalia.  In the breeze.  On the
block.  And moreso every day.  Wondering what life is like "on the outside."
