                  http://www.richmond.edu/~junebug/registration2.html

                                   June 15 - 18, 1998
                                              at
                    The University of Richmond, Richmond, VA

The home page for this Institute is http://www.richmond.edu/~junebug --
you'll find a preliminary Institute overview, and links to information
about Richmond and the University of Richmond. Since we're still
constructing the site, feel free to write with suggestions for the site.

(Note: Not all the information is on the site yet, and not all the links
work yet, but we figured people want to make their summer plans. So,
feel free to use the registration form using the submit button, to send
questions via the email link, and to re-visit the site for additional
information soon.)

                             WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
                NEWCOMERS & INSTITUTE "GRADS" WELCOME INCLUDING:
              * Those interested in technology and teacher issues
                   * Faculty development and support persons
                    * Composition or English studies faculty
                      * Technologists who work with teachers
                            *  Teacher educators
          * Administrators who need to better understand teacher issues

The Institute offers a strong curriculum for teachers learning how to
use information technology in the classroom presented by leaders in the
field of computers and writing who collectively have offered hundreds of
workshops for post-secondary educators.

Although we focus on composition and English studies, we usually have
about 1/4 of our participants from other disciplines as well as K-12,
and they say the experience was most worthwhile.

                          ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

                               TEAMS WELCOME!

Come with another person or a group from your institution. We emphasize
community-building, collaboration and suppport throughout the Institute
in addition to providing a strong theoretical framework, hands-on and
classroom how-to.

                   TEAM-BUILDING & MBTI -- NEW AT "JUNEBUG 2"

Given our focus on teamwork, we plan to offer, for the first time, an
optional day for team-building before the actual Institute begins. This
is for those who want to develop strong working-together skills in their
own community of support. To do this, we will use the Myers-Briggs
Temperament Indicator (MBTI) and some team-building exercises focused on
teaching and technology. Look for more information on the web site
soon!

                         ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

                         REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

Register early to avoid disappointment. Previous Institutes have been
filled, sometimes with a waiting list. The Univeristy of Richmond is a
gorgeous location and features lovely on-campus lodging at a reasonable
price, but it is limited to the first who reserve space. Other housing
at good, close-by hotels is also available. Richmond has an airport, a
train station and is close to Interstate 66. Also, U of R won national
dining center awards for food; 8 meals are included in the cost of
the Institute. It's an intense 4 days, but lots of fun and bound to get
the ideas started for new ventures on your campus and in your classroom!

Register online, or print out the form and mail it. You will receive
your confirmation by email. Right now the only payment option is to
mail a check, but we are investigating the feasibility of offering
payment by VISA or Master Card. Your place will be temporarily saved
upon receipt of your email or printed registration form and permanently
reserved upon receipt of your payment. (More details at
http://www.richmond.edu/~junebug.)
