Re: handwriting expert?
Bob, my strangest request came over the phone, too, when I was assistant to
the Director of Writing at BSU. A woman called and asked if her daughter,
a HS student, could be enrolled in some kind of "writing" program. She
said if none were available, she'd be happy to pay for individual summer
"writing" lessons. I asked if she meant tutoring, and she seemed confused,
but agreed that might be appropriate. When I asked her to describe the
kind of help she was looking for, it all became clear: She wanted her
daughter to take "riding" lessons. I gave her some good names to contact
*outstide* the university.
Appropriate, given the "fear of students" thread...
