Re: pencils as advertisement
Lady,
We used to have bookmarks (and will get them again); this year we have both pens and pencils. This past summer, one of the tutors printed a heap of small sticky labels with "The Writing Center" and our location and phone number. So we've just been sticking these on anything that can possibly walk out of the WC. And pens and pencils walk out of here all the time.
This seems to work rather well though sometimes the sticky labels come unstuck and attach themselves to whatever is at hand (guess this isn't such a bad thing actually--kinda like burrs disseminating seeds). In the future, I'd include our email and website addresses as well if space permits.

Hi, group.
I have a question. Does anyone have pencils with your writing
center's name on them? If so, do you think this is an effective
means of advertisement. And if you do, what sort of information
do you put on your pencils?
Thanks,
Lady Falls Brown
