Re: Marketing Slogans
Just this semester we started a project to include a logo on
everything we produce for students and faculty. We have one
design that runs horizontally across the bottom of the sheet and one
that runs vertically down the side for use with different kinds of
layouts. It says:
We're here to help--
University Writing Center Irby 188 450-5123
The top line is italicized and in about 14 point; our name is bold
and about 30 point; the address and phone # are bold and
about 14 point. We used Comic Sans as our typeface; it's clean yet
not formal. We also used a screened background (20%, I think) with
a black border so the logo would stand out.
This may be more than you want to know, but I do think we need to
attend to how we represent our writing centers in graphic or
typograpic images.
