I'm using a textbook that includes cubing in its prewriting discussion.  Cubing
involves looking at any subject from six sides: 1) Describe/define it; 
2)Compare/contrast it;  3) Associate it; 4)Analyze it; 5) Apply it; 6) Argue 
for/against it.  The text is called The Power of Writing by David Chapman and
Preston Lynn Waller and it's put out by Mayfield Publishing Company (ISBN#
1-55934-453-9)  If you want to discuss the six sides in more detail, please
