Re: the 'logic' of training tutors thru' EN
Hi Virginia,
(forgive me, but I have to say it: "There is a Santa Claus.")
The Ohio State University, which by some accounts is the biggest
land-grant university in the US of A, which has an english department
that recognizes its legitimate and historical and LOGICAL connection to
literacy research, has English 467, "Writing and Learning," that trains
undergraduates to be writing assistants for their peers, and teaches
relevant linguistic principles and current educational theories involved
in writing centers' whole interdisciplinary mission.
Tell that to your EPC and the horses they rode in on.
