the 'logic' of training tutors thru' EN -Reply
At Portland State Univ (OR) the director of the WC teaches a class
"Teaching and Tutoring Writing" that is open to undergrads and grad
students. It is listed in Eng dept offerings and has an Eng prefix
as opposed to Wr for writing. It is 4 credits and attracts teachers
studying for the MA, writing assistants in our WAC program,
prospective WC tutors, and mentors (grad & undergrad) who teach in
our gen ed program. It was an advanced comp course in the Eng dept
at Brooklyn College when I directed the WC there.
