Re: the 'logic' of training tutors thru' EN

Virginia,

Our 3-credit course is called Eng. 363: Seminar in Collaborative Writing
Theory and Practice. We changed the name from Tutor Training seminar for
some of the same reasons you have articulated. With our new name it
doesn't look so much like a tutor training course. In fact, (1) taking the
course does not mean a student will become a tutor--students are still
interviewed after the course, (2) studens can take the course even if they
don't plan to become tutors because (3) it counts toward the writing and
technical writing majors and minors.
