My position is Coordinator of the Writing Center, a responsibility for
which I receive 1/4 release time.  Tutoring was very consciously omitted
from my job description by the English department chair & the Arts &
Sciences Dean when they wrote my job description.  This choice of
theirs seems humane and ultimately beneficial.  I do fill in for "missing"
tutors and during peak times, quite happily.  But in the long run, I
appreciate my time being valued primarily as a professor & administrator.
