writing center research funds

I was wondering if any of you have acquired funds for writing-center
research, and if so, from where--WPA?  NCTE?  I hope to start some research
in the fall on graduate students in the writing center, looking at how what
I am calling the "cult of expertise" affects the way we work with grad
students and challenges a lot of the prevailing pedagogical theory about
"peer" tutoring and so on.  But it would be nice if I could get some $$$.
Any suggestions?
