RE: Summer Reading
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I recommend any of James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux mysteries. I
had never been much of a fan of mystery novels until entering into the
adventures of this Cajun detective and his interactions with the highborn
and the lowlifes of South Louisiana. I read my first one last August.
Since then I have read 8 more. My copies of College English gather dust.
I just finished *Buzz Cut* by James W. Hall. Another fine
mystery, but quite overwritten.
And, of course, I always re-read Sinclair Lewis' *Elmer Gantry*
every summer. We DO all need role models, don't we.
Warm regards,
Carl W. Glover
